DO THEY DESERVE THIS MUCH MONEY? Salaries of managers in Serbia increased by 650 percent in comparison to workers!

  • 0

Regardless of how devastating it may sound, in Serbia, manager earnings are a whopping 6.5 times higher than workers!

Law on salaries to cut costs, improve organisation

Within Europe, however, that correlation is somewhat different, and research confirms that managers earn only three to four times more.

Statistics of the conference participants "Salaries and remuneration models," states that the average salary in Serbia is the lowest in the region, 650,000 employees receive them with delay, and about 50,000 of them - not at all. Among other things, a Director in Belgrade has a greater pay than a director  in smaller towns by a whopping 23 times!

Workforce in Serbia far cheaper than in Europe

- Experts in Belgrade have a 30 percent higher salary than in smaller cities, while in Croatia the difference is halved. Employees in the IT sector most often change their jobs, more than 10 percent of them had the opportunity to change their company last year alone, while in other professions that only accounts for a few percent - explains Stefan Vukajlović from the company "Mercer", which deals with human resources.

- Only 17,000 private enterprises pay out salaries regularly - said Zivko Pržulj from the Belgrade Banking Academy, adding that all this is very bad for work motivation,  results of a research campaign conducted in America on a sample of 200 companies showed that a 10 per cent increase in earnings  would impact productivity by 1.5 percent.

Despite the falling real estate prices in Belgrade by up to 40 percent, Belgrade has not fallen from the top of the list of most expensive cities in the region, devastatingly so, data reads that the average price of a square meter in the center of Belgrade ranges from 1,500 to 1,700 euros, while in Zagreb on similar sites it is between 1,400 to 1,600 euros.
