YOU WANTED IN ON THE NEW LIBERLAND STATE? Its president was arrested!
During his attempt to walk to "his" state Liberland, border police yesterday arrested, "its president," Czech Vit Jedlicka.
Vit Jedlicka was on his way to Osijek from Zagreb with the intention of buying a boat and arriving in Liberland via the river in order to avoid explaining himself to the police. Of course, on Saturday afternoon, even in a city near the Drava river it was impossible to buy a boat, so Jedlicka and his small group follower cars drove to the village of Zmajevac where they were welcomed by Croatian police.
Vit Jedlicka explained to Croatian police that he was legally out of the European Union in no man's land, rather Liberland where no police have jurisdiction. After half an hour, the police decided to let Jedlicka and his friends cross the Croatian-Liberland border.

Jedlicka refused to enter Croatian territory during the apprehension, although he did not resist arrest.

Today, on 16 May 2015 in the afternoon, the president of Liberland Vít Jedlička was once again detained together with 10 other people. The expedition of President Jedlicka followed the Croatian interpretation, which holds that Liberland is Serbian territory. Altogether, there were two registered Serbian ships heading for the Liberland bank. Liberland is attributed to Serbia according to Croatia. In the ships, there were the president of Liberland, his nearest team and the reporter of the Croatian TV. Before any landing could take place, the expedition was detained by the Croatian police. The police used all measures to detain, arrest and escort the expedition to the police station in the city of Draž. As far as we are informed, only the Croatian reporter was restricted by being handcuffed. The police is not able to communicate the exact charges. At the moment of detention, the Liberland's international legal team got involved in the issue. At this moment, the situation is not clear and we are awaiting any news from the legal team or the president himself. According to the latest information, the court takes place today (17/05/2015) at 9am in Beli Manastir. We will inform you on further development.
