MAKING JOVANA HAPPY: The ingenious girl from Knez Mihailova got a new violin!

City Manager, Goran Vesic ensured that the talented girl, Jovan Savic, who up until a month ago, played in Belgrade's Knez Mihailova street to make money for a new violin, gets a new one, announced the City Administration today.

- I am happy because little Jovana will get a new violin. I thank the Eurosalon factory because they responded positively to my call and immediately paid for the making of the violin. Their donation is an example of how a socially responsible company should behave - said Vesic.

The city Manager will provide a scholarship in the future for young Jovana, such that, a portion of the salary  he receives in the City Hall goes towards a scholarship for Jovana's education.

- Jovana is very talented, but unfortunately many talented children are often left to their own resourcefulness and that of their parents. Jovana will receive a violin that she so fervently wished for and for which she struggled, I will provide a personal scholarship for her education, but this does not solve the systemic problem with the other children - said Vesic and announced an initiative for the formation of the Fund for Young Talents of the City of Belgrade.

As he explained, the founder of the Fund should be the City of Belgrade, and the money from the Fund would be used for scholarships for gifted children.

The Fund should be underway in 2016, and the means with which we dispose would be secured to a lesser extent by the Assembly of the City of Belgrade, and in a large part of a socially responsible company that paid the donations to the Fund.

- The Fund would allocate money in the annual competition, and quality control would be performed by prominent public figures - said the city manager.
