SCANDALOUS: Serbian Olympian had to pay the pool entrance fee in order to train!
Great shame and scandal occurred on Tuesday at the pools in Kosutnjak, when the Serbian swimmer Csaba Szilagyi, one of our first athletes to secure a spot at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, had to pay a ticket to be able to train in the period for the general public.
It is obvious that a handful of medals he brought to our country and his participation in the world's biggest competitions were not sufficient for him to be exempt from paying the entrance fee to the pool at the Republic Institute for Sport.
It's a big failure of all institutions who should be ashamed of themselves, starting from the Republic Institute for Sport, the Swimming Association, to the Ministry of Sport and youth, because how else can you explain to someone, who is an ambassador for his country in the best possible light and has to pay 250 dinars to be able to train.

However, an apology, even though it is perhaps too late, still came. This was confirmed by the young swimmer for the "Informer" who said that he was called by the director of the Institute for Sport, Goran Bojovic and apologized to, and invited to take the VIP card that was made just for him.
- I paid the ticket on Tuesday, but on Wednesday the director called me and apologized. He said he did not know what had happened and that such things will not happen and that they made a special ticket for me. I felt bad when it happened to me, but I respect that they admitted their mistake and I did not want to make a frenzy out of it. Unfortunately this will only correct one injustice, but it hasn't changed anything in the system - said Szilagyi.

All of this was confirmed by the director Goran Bojovic, who said that he was ready to pay out of pocket for Szilagyi's training, but that what happened has nothing to do with the National Training Center.
- He did not have to pay the ticket, but that's how his club had advised him. I called him and told him that Serbia was indebted to him and that he will always be able to train with us, even if I have to pay for training. Him and all other swimmers need to have VIP guest treatment, and feel like hosts. We have a great relationship with the Swimming Federation and I will not go into the problems that they have, but it has nothing to do with the National Training Center - said Bojovic for the "Informer".
