RATKO MLADIC HAS GOTTEN THE SERBIAN POLICE ON HIGH ALERT: A mysterious package TERRIFIED the employees of the Zemun mail center!
Instead of a bomb in a small box, on which there was no recipient address, there were newspapers clippings and photographs of the Hague indicted, Ratko Mladic (72) and a letter from an unknown sender from Australia that said that because of the "General, he spent eight months in jail"
Employees in the main "mail" distribution center in Ugrinovacka Strreet in Zemun panicked when they received the package on Wednesday on which it was written:"For Serb criminals and hooligans", so they called the police thinking there may have possibly been an explosive device.
However, instead of a bomb in a small box, on which there was no recipient address there were newspapers clippings and photographs of the Hague indicted, Ratko Mladic (72) and a letter from an unknown sender from Australia that said that because of the "General, he spent eight months in jail."
According to the findings of our column, one of the articles submitted was titled "Because of Ratko Mladic I spent eight months in custody," in which there was a statement and picture of the "Lexington band" front-man, Bojan Vaskovic (31) who was accused of being one of the "accomplices" of the arrested general.
Employees of the "post" office immediately called the police suspecting that an explosive device was in question.
9 YEARS SINCE THE PASSING OF SLOBODAN MILOSEVIC: Did he die from natural causes or was he murdered?
- The first call was recorded by police officers at the station in Zemun. They immediately went on site and invited colleagues from the bomb squad of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In just a few minutes, a well-equipped team with the most advanced devices showed up. A thorough check revealed there was no cause for panic, and that it was just word of a plain package, confirmed by those who opened it - explains our source close to the case.
The police is determining who is the mysterious sender of the package, and even stranger than the package is the city from which it was sent and the lack of hesitation to write the accompanying message.
Seselj expects to receive document from ICTY Wednesday
The process of the ten defendants, that from 2002 to 2006 were hiding Mladic so he would not be extradited to The Hague continues on May 8th. Lawyer Nemanja Govedarica, defense attorney Stanko Ristic and his son said that the defense at the preliminary hearing suggested that Ratko Mladic attend the trial testimony and that the court should decide that later. The defence, as we've come to learn, has proposed witnesses Biljana Plavsic, the sentenced generals Nebojsa Pavkovic, Dragoljub Ojdanic and Zorac Lilic. The process is started up from scratch because the judge was changed, and all the accused maintain their plea of not guilty.
