Vice President of the NATO Paolo Alli explains future of Serbia lies in Euro-Atlantic integration!
- You can be a part of the Euro-Atlantic family in a number of different ways, Alli said and added that the Serbian government and the parliament are firmly committed to Serbia's EU membership, while on the other hand it is not likely that Serbia wants to become a part of the NATO, at least not in near future, which is not a problem at all.
Noting that Serbian citizens are concerned about the way in which EU membership and a potential seat in the NATO could affect Serbia's independence and its foreign policy decisions, Alli said that whatever the future of Serbia within Euro-Atlantic integrations may be, Serbian citizens should back it fully because otherwise the process will not be successful.
- It would be a mistake for us to push their worries and questions under the carpet, Alli said addressing the participants of the 88th Rose-Roth Seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly on Serbia, Western Balkans and the Euro-Atlantic community.
