EU donates greenhouses to farmers hit by 2014 floods

Organisation Help launched distribution of 119 greenhouses to 19 agricultural producers in Trstenik, central Serbia, on Tuesday within the programme of EU assistance to farmers whose property suffered extensive damage in the May floods in 2014.

The total value of the EU donation adds up to around EUR 78,000.

Trstenik Mayor Miroslav Aleksic said that the value of donations which the EU provided to farmers so far, including the latest delivery, totals around EUR 250,000 and were distributed to more than 1,200 farms.

This year's budget of the Trstenik municipality allocated over RSD 40 million for development and incentives to agriculture, Aleksic added.

Organisation Help has already reconstructed 13 homes in Trstenik and it also distributed sets of basic household appliances to nine families.
