Commemoration honouring victims killed in KiM in Mitrovica

A commemoration was served at the Monument of Truth in Kosovska Mitrovica on Tuesday to honour people killed in Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) and thus mark the beginning of celebration of the 11th anniversary since the pogrom of Serb population in KiM on March 17, 2004.

- Kosovska Mitrovica does not forget and the Republic of Serbia wants justice for all Serbs killed in the territory of KiM not only on March 17, 2004, but also for all those who were murdered there since 1999 - president of the Kosovska Mitrovica interim body Aleksandar Spiric said.

- We call on the international community and we are asking them, just like we ask them every year standing at this spot, to discover the perpetrators and masterminds of the crime - Spiric said.

Wreaths were laid at the Monument of Truth by representatives of the Serbian government Office for KiM, officials of local self-governments from northern Kosovo, Kosovska Mitrovica District, representatives of the War Veterans' Association and Alliance of Associations of the National Liberation War Veterans of Serbia (SUBNOR), as well as Kosovo Minister of Administration and Local Self-Government Ljubomir Maric.
