A HERO'S EMOTIONAL CONFESSION: We chased the child's kidnappers LIKE MAD. We caught them just before they wanted to kill her!

- We chased little Masha's (2) kidnappers with maximal speed on the highway. We gained on them near the exit for Sremska Mitrovica and caught them climbing down the channel next to the road where they tried to get rid of the child. When one of the kidnappers saw us, he was scared to death, he couldn't say a word - Said Ivan Lapcevic, one of three police officers that was the first to caught up with them.

- We didn't give them any chance of resistance. I assume they are ''professionals'' for they didn't have any reaction except the surprise of being caught - said Lapcevic.

Masha, he said, was just sitting quietly.

Lapcevic and two of his colleagues  Sava Papic and Rade Vujanovic were awarded for this heroic act, and were yesterday formally admitted by the Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.
