The Chinese sell icons of Novak Djokovic for 100 dinars! (PHOTO)
Among the icons "made in China", next to St. George, St. Nicholas and the Virgin, the most popular is the icon of a famous Serbian tennis player, because he has a “special power”.
AN ABSOLUTE WIN: Serbian sold his soul at an internet auction!
It is very well-known that at the Chinese flea markets you can buy anything you think of.
However, in the abundance of knick knacks, you can find the icons as well, with a special declaration - "made in China".

To make the story even better, among the "Chinese icons" next to Saint George, Saint Nicholas, Jesus Christ, John the Baptist and the Virgin, the most wanted, no more no less, is the one of the celebrated Serbian tennis player - Novak Djokovic!
In one of the most supplied shops on the ground floor of a Chinese trade center in Block 70, on the mention that we are journalists, we are warmly greeted by the seller Ding. He says that in his "modest" store he has everything that belongs to the Serbian tradition, even icons.
The ones with Nole’s image, he says, are sold the fastest and he has an explanation why.
- Several customers told me that Nole has a special power. Foreigners and children are the ones who buy Nole’s icon the most. Frankly, I think they do not know the difference between the icon and an ordinary image on wood – adds the seller in confidence before he is interrupted by a customer, who is standing behind us asking to see a bottle opener with the image of the Virgin.
A woman pushes us, saying:
- So embarrassing! A bottle opener with the image of the mother of God?! They are making everything ... You know, this blasphemy can only limit you– she says it out loud to the customer.
We elbowed our way through the crowd in order to see better what and to what prices can we find on local shelves. The prices of Chinese icons of various formats range from 150 to 1,190 dinars (that is the price of a candlestick with accessories for incense), and there are also: a homemade plum brandy bottle labeled "Popij jednu, valja se" (all in Cyrillic for only 790 dinars), a set of bowls for wheat and a glass for wine, as well as the pallet of machine-made wooden candlesticks with religious motifs (600 dinars).
Nole, according to Ding’s words, can be purchased for 100 dinars without bargain, and you are welcome to find something for yourself!
