It has been 53 years since Josip Broz Tito and Jovanka Budisavljevic told YES to each other at their wedding at Dunavka Villa in Ilok. On that 15th of April , 1952 , at the secret wedding in Ilok, Serbian Jovanka Budisavljevic and (28) and Croat Josip Broz Tito (60) entered the holy matrimony. This marriage has been made in the complete secrecy, very few people attending the ceremony.

The minister at the wedding was Momir Jovanovic, godfathers were Aleksandar Leka Rankovic and Ivan Gosnjak, and there's an urban legend of Jovanka's mother saying to her upon finding out who she had married 'you could have picked someone better'. (This story was never confirmed but it was passed along ever since).

Momo Cvijovic, the curator and advisor of the Yugoslavian History Museum confirmed to us that there is a lack of information considering the wedding itself.

According to him, when curators searched through the documentation for the 'Great Illusion' exibition, they realized that Josip Broz Tito, who spent a lot of time watching movies, had seen one French fifties movie on the exact same 15th of April. The movie's name was 'One day in the life of Laponian people' (17 minutes long)
