Vucevic: I am satisfied with the gatherings in Belgrade, people feel lighter
Caretaker Prime Minister Milos Vucevic said today that he is satisfied with the three-day gatherings held under the slogan "We will not give Serbia away," and assessed that there was positive energy and good mood.
"My first impression is that people feel lighter, relieved, that they breathed a sigh of relief. It is really difficult to endure six months of constant dark bombardment, blockades, preventing people from moving, gathering. Anyone who would say something opposite was immediately labeled as not mourning the victims from the railway station in Novi Sad, that their hands were bloody. Nothing else can be done until some demands are met, that are impossible to meet, or even if and when they were, no one would say that they have been met," he told TV K1.
According to Vucevic the number of people who attended is important because it shows the mood and political support and strength of the political parties that organized the rally, but the number is not the most important thing.
He pointed out that it is very important that people don't feel pressure and it was much easier for them to come to this rally than to the one in Sremska Mitrovica.
"People got rid of the pressure, and probably some people were also afraid. People can't stand the senseless daily blockades, pot banging, whistling, vuvuzelas, accusations. People won't put up with it anymore. They stole six months from us, because they imposed the story that they are supposedly the only ones who can determine what happened at the railway station in Novi Sad, and every day they moved farther and farther away from that topic," Vucevic stated.
He assessed that the five demands presented by President Aleksandar Vucic during the rally over the weekend are crucial, that they are the essence and the reason why the gathering was held, and that unless they are realized, Serbia will under threat.
