Vucic says he will probably meet with Trump in early May, in the US
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said last night that he expects to meet with US President Donald Trump in the next 30 days, most likely in early May.
Vucic said this in the Palace of Serbia, in response to a journalist, and stressed that he has countless topics to discuss with the US president.
"I just don't how I'll manage, since it certainly won't be an hour or an hour and a half meeting, since presidents of incomparably larger countries can hardly get that. And I will be one of the first 20 that will have the opportunity to meet with President Trump since he started his new term. I will try to summarize all our needs and everything that I think is important for bilateral relations between the US and Serbia, and let's do everything we can to solve the issue of these tariffs that are bothering us, and I'm almost certain that we will find a solution," said Vucic.
He added that it depends above all on Washington, because Serbia is too small, but that he, as a political veteran, can allow himself such an evaluation and assessment.
Vucic also pointed out that he is grateful that he will have the opportunity to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron in the coming days.
Asked whether it is possible to organize a meeting between Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Serbia, Vucic replied that he has said that Serbia is ready for that, but that he never expressed too much hope that it was realistic.
"We are always ready, they are our friends and we think it would be good if President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Putin and Trump were all to come here. All three of them are our friends. Two of those three countries, these two countries that are in a conflict, a war, have not recognized Kosovo, so we have no reason to be against any of them. I think we are the ideal place for that," said Vucic, but added that there are limitations regarding our environment.
Speaking about EXPO 2027, to be held in Belgrade, Vucic said that he hopes King Abdullah will visit soon, adding that he is sure that Jordan will be the 88th country to confirm its participation, and there will be more in the meantime.
