Just like every time significant anniversaries or Republic Day, January 9, are marked in the Serb Republic (RS, Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina), military planes fly over Bosnia and Herzegovina. (The RS is today marking its Police Day.)

Banja Luka's Nezavisne Novine is reporting that since this morning, a plane has been circling over Bosnia and Herzegovina for hours, and that it that took off from a NATO military base near Constanta in Romania.

According to Flight Radar 24, which monitors aircraft flights in real time, this is a Bombardier Challenger 650 Artemis, registered to a military formation or government service.

The plane made several circles on the stretch between Mostar and Tuzla, at one point coming close to the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. It flies at an altitude of about 10 kilometers, and moves at a speed of about 750 kilometers per hour.

As an interesting fact, Nezavisne notes that, on its way from Romania to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the plane bypassed Serbia's airspace and entered Bosnia and Herzegovina via Hungary and Croatia instead.

You can follow the flight path here.
