Loncar: Ban on trip to Kosovo and Metohija is direct violation of agreements, the visit was properly announced
"The decision of the provisional institutions in Pristina not to allow me, as minister of health of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, to visit Kosovo and Metohija and the healthcare workers and Serb medical institutions operating in our southern province, is disgraceful," Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar stated on Wednesday.
Loncar added that the goal of the visit was not of a political nature, but to make sure of the proper functioning of the Serbian healthcare system in Kosovo and Metohija, which provides all medical services equally to Serbs and ethnic Albanians, adhering to a deeply humane approach and never discriminating on any basis.
But for Albin Kurti, politics come before the health and well-being of the people, he remarked.
"While Albin Kurti directly and unequivocally supports the protests in Serbia, he at the same time implements such profoundly anti-civilization bans, which directly undermine normalization of relations. However, one thing is certain, neither Pristina nor Kurti will ever be able to prevent us from helping our people in Kosovo and Metohija, from modernizing healthcare and providing help and medical services to Serbs and Albanians and all other communities, because to us, this is not a matter of politics but of a code of conduct and responsibility, and we will always be guided by such principles," said Loncar.
"This ban also represents a direct violation of valid agreements, considering that the plan of my visit, the tour of KBC (clinical-hospital center) Kosovska Mitrovica and KBC Gracanica was announced on time and in accordance with all valid and agreed regulations," the minister concluded.
