FM Djuric signs book of condolence as Serbia observes day of mourning for North Macedonia fire victims
Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric signed today the book of condolence at the embassy of North Macedonia, opened to honor the victims of the tragedy in Kocani.
"In this difficult and tragic hour that has hit the friendly and brotherly North Macedonia, the Republic of Serbia firmly stands with it, wishing to provide all possible help in treating the injured citizens," the minister wrote and stated that the Serbian doctors will care for all the injured who have been transported to hospitals in Belgrade and Nis as if they were their loved ones, and will do their best to help them recover.
Djuric stressed that Serbia shares in the immense pain felt by every citizen of North Macedonia and mourns together with the Macedonian brothers, having declared March 18 as a day of mourning and lowering the flags at half-mast.
"I offer words of comfort and condolences to the families of the victims in their immense pain, and my sincere wishes for a successful and speedy recovery of those injured," Minister Djuric wrote.
According to a unanimous decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, a day of mourning is today observed in our country to honor the victims of the Kocani night club tragedy.
At least 59 people died while 155 were injured in a fire that broke out inside the venue in the night between Saturday and Sunday.
