"It's unlikely the child could have wandered off that far": Rescuer who found 2-year-old Dunja reveals details
Dejan Sevcevic, a member of the Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) who, along with is dog, found the missing 2-year-old Dunja Markovic, said that the toddler was suffering from hypothermia and was in a serious condition, but that the rescuers arrived on time and that he hopes she will be fine.
"She was alone, next to a stream, she was lying on the ground, she didn't fall into the stream," he told reporters in the town of Ub in western Serbia.
As for how such a small child could get so far - she was found about a kilometer from her home - he said that it is unlikely that a 2-year-old can do that, but that it is not ruled out she could have traveled that distance (on her own).
"She was in a state of shock, she didn't really know what was happening," Sevcevic said.
Dunja Markovic from Ub, who disappeared yesterday, was found this morning after an all-night search of the area around her house.
