Aleksandar Djordjevic, the deputy mayor of the Rekovac municipality, was arrested early this morning in Kraljevo, as a major anti-corruption operation carried out by the police and the prosecution continues, it has been confirmed for Telegraf.rs.

According to unofficial information, the police also brought in Milutin Markovic, the director of the Draca quarry in Rekovac.

Djordjevic was the president of the municipality of Rekovac and the president of the assembly of the quarry, which suffered damages worth around 60 million dinars due to corrupt actions of which he and Markovic are suspected.

Djordjevic and Markovic are suspected of selecting several companies and selling "stone aggregate" to them at significantly reduced prices compared to those defined by the official quarry price list, adopted by the mine's assembly.

In this way, they damaged the mine in the amount of over 60 million, and therefore also the municipality of Rekovac, since it is the owner of the mine.
