This is how ex EPS chief Grcic's was arrested! Tens of thousands in cash, expensive watches, jewelry found
During the arrest this morning of Milorad Grcic, former acting director of the public company EPS (Electric Power Industry of Serbia), a large amount of cash, as well as expensive watches and jewelry were found.
Grcic was arrested early this morning on suspicion of participating in embezzlement that incurred damages to EPS worth more than 100 million dinars (over 850,000 euros). Grcic was detained while he was getting out of his car.
He was handcuffed and taken to the building of the Obrenovac municipality, of which he is the mayor. As can be seen from the police footage, tens of thousands of euros, Swiss francs, expensive watches, necklaces were found there.
At the station, he signed a report listing the confiscated items that will be the subject of an investigation, in order to determine their origin and whether they were acquired through crime.

The chief public prosecutor in Belgrade, Nenad Stefanovic, said that an investigation will be conducted against these persons on suspicion that they abused their official position and powers in connection with EPS public procurement and damaged that public company in the amount of more than 100 million dinars, the illegal gains they obtained for themselves and others.
Some of the suspects are charged with giving and receiving bribes in the form of monetary gifts, which was further concealed through money laundering - Stefanovic stated.
He added that the Prosecutor's Office will also order the launch of a financial investigation against the suspects and persons associated with them.
