Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today that, while traveling around Serbia and talking to people, hehas felt the anger and dissatisfaction growing against those blocking the streets and asked everyone to remain calm and patient, pointing out that he advocates for dialogue only and will continue to offer that even if the other side does not want it.

In a conversation with residents in Coka, northern Serbia, Vucic said that he felt the need of the citizens to say that they feel differently from those who block the streets every day, but stressed that he advocates exclusively for peace, patience, stability, conversation, dialogue.

"They don't want dialogue, we bring up dialogue again. They don't want to talk, we do. They say Vucic does not have jurisdiction. That's why they declared themselves in charge of prosecutors and police officers and judges, they became everything. And regardless of that, talk, dialogue, peace and nothing else," said Vucic.

He added that what he sees touring Serbia, talking to people, and what some do not understand, is that the pendulum is swinging, literally moving to the other side and that people are getting angry and edgy.

"But that's why I'm asking you to just stay calm. We must not behave like they do. Just be calm, patient, be tolerant. Let's not mistreat anyone. Let's not for a second think that we have the right to restrict someone else's movements, not for a second think about doing what many of them are doing, instead, peace, patience and we will win," Vucic told people in Coka.

He added that 1968 was the year of "some madness in the world with unclear motives for various revolutions, among them the student ones" - and that in that year saw both here and everywhere in Europe the biggest demonstrations ever, and that the great French leader Charles de Gaulle faced 11 million demonstrators.

"Such moments in history come, they happen. Three months later, De Gaulle convincingly won the election with 56 percent of the vote. Just be patient, people will see and people in Serbia know who is working and who is doing nothing. And those who do nothing will never be able to defeat those who work," said Vucic.
