Heartbreaking: Friends cry next to Mihailo's body, Telegraf at scene of great tragedy

A large number of people gathered not far from a gravel pit in Novi Selo where the body of Mihailo Gordanic (38), who jumped into the Drina River on Tuesday, was found stranded in the bushes.

He jumped from a boat?

It is suspected that Mihailo was in a boat transporting goods from Bosnia and Herzegovina and that he jumped into the river to escape a border police patrol.

A source close to the investigation said that two men were waiting on the river bank to take over the goods that an unknown man was transporting by boat from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"They came in a van they were supposed to load the goods into. When the border police patrol approached, Mihailo jumped in the water and swam away, while the boat loaded with the goods overturned and disappeared in the darkness."
