Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic said today that the Serbian president and the government have invited students, rectors and deans to talks and pointed out that this could be the path towards social dialogue.

Vucevic told TV Pink that he was waiting to see how the leadership of the Belgrade University would respond.

He added that he hopes that common sense will prevail and that professors from the Faculty of Civil Engineering will also come to talk, and reminded that the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has provided additional telephone numbers and emails to schedule meetings in the Ministry when it comes to documentation related to the railway station in Novi Sad, as well as that the prosecutor filed an indictment less than two months after the accident and that one minister and two assistant ministers are indicted.

"That could be the path to social dialogue. The sooner we understand that, the better it will be for the sake of lowering tensions. Of course, there are those who are comfortable with tensions. Yesterday, President Vucic said in his address that he will not allow anyone to get a transitional government. On behalf of the SNS, I say that we will never vote for such a government," Vucevic stressed.

Vucevic added that students from the Faculty of Technical Sciences have distanced themselves from politics.

Asked whether we are closer to a new government or elections, Vucevic said that both options are on the table and that a decision will be made in the next two weeks.

"Both options have advantages and challenges. We may be closer to a new government. Some coalition partners are in favor of a new government. I will consider both options with the president of the Republic. We will not be guided by party interests, but by the interests of Serbia and its citizens," said Vucevic.
