Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Wednesday in Davos, among others, met with Volodymyr Zelensky and later said that the Ukrainian president did not ask him for Serbia to impose sanctions against Russia, not because he would not like that, but because he knows Serbia's position.

Vucic recalled that Serbia has held the same position regarding the conflict in Ukraine for almost three years.

"Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, Serbia has had the same stance that everyone knows, so there was no talk about that (sanctions)," Vucic told TV Pink.

He added that he spoke with Zelensky about peace in Ukraine, but also about some issues on the EU path "that we both have, so we found some common denominators."

Asked who is closer to the EU, Serbia or Ukraine, Vucic replied that he did not know how to define that - politically, certainly Ukraine, probably the closest, while Serbia has been on the EU path for much longer.

Vucic, who is attending the World Economic Forum, also said that everyone expects new moves by US President Donald Trump "and it seems that there will be tectonic changes in the world."

He also noted that Trump does not like Brussels.

"Trump will give support to individual EU member states, but not to Brussels as the center of the EU," he said.

Vucic assessed that the World Economic Forum in Davos is always a good opportunity to learn and hear new things, because the world's elite gathers in Davos, the world's most powerful people go there.

"I noticed that people are listening to what others are saying less and less, I listen to everything, but some others come to give statements to their own media and leave, I like to listen. We introduced vouchers, and I learned that from Robert Fico, I learned many other things from other leaders from around the world," he said.

According to Vucic, the Forum in Davos is an ideal opportunity to meet many representatives of companies, politicians, as everything happens in the same place.

He said that the world's attention is turning to China and India, indicating that he means the entire area of Indochina and added that he expects many more changes in the world.

"Everyone is turning to India and China, they would like to be able to do without China, but they can't. When I say India, I mean the entire area of Indochina. I also listened to the president of Singapore and head of the Malaysian government, they received attention and enormous trust, they are becoming more and more important. Europe is also turning towards there, but also towards Latin America," said Vucic.
