Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic made an address from Brussels.

He said that Pristina and Kurti continued the wave of violence and terror against the Serb people, today around 35 Serbian institutions were closed and this, Petkovic pointed out, shows that Kurti does not want dialogue but violence and confrontation with the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija.

"Kurti is using the election campaign for a showdown with the Serb people. I came to Brussels to deal with the issue of the missing persons, we made progress when it comes to this important topic. However, when Kurti shuts down key institutions and threatens the survival of the Serb people, he shows us that he is not interested in dialogue. He is shutting down Serb institutions on the very day when we start the dialogue," said Petkovic.

The state of Serbia, he added, will continue to pay all the benefits, and salaries to all employees in all Serbian institutions in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija that were closed by Pristina.

"The state will continue to pay all employees and they should not worry about that. This is another indicator that the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija need to empower themselves more," he concluded, adding that they asked the European Union to react strongly, rather than with some "tepid statement that will only put the wind in Kurti's sails."

Petkovic walked out of the talks in Brussels today because of the unprecedented terror and institutional violence committed by Pristina and Albin Kurti towards Serbs and the closure of numerous Serbian institutions in Kosovo and Metohija.
