President Vucic's congratulatory message on Serb Republic Day: He addresses letter to President Dodik

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has sent a congratulatory message to President of the Serb Republic (RS, Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina) Milorad Dodik, on the occasion of the RS Day, and wished the citizens well-being and progress.

"Today, the world is on the threshold of huge and previously unseen changes that will reshape the existing order to an unprecedented order. In the times to come, Serbia will continue to stand firmly with the RS, regardless of all the weight of temptations and challenges that lie ahead.

Every era of our nation's existence was marked by difficult moments, suffering, the struggle for freedom - and achieving the ideals that our venerable ancestors dreamed about. For those ideals of justice, peace and general progress, we are still fighting to this day, investing all our intelligence and strength in building bridges of reconciliation, cooperation and a better life for generations to come. It is precisely this essence of the Serb people that is not understood by those who lost all credibility a long time ago, and who still mistakenly think that we are easy prey to greed and ruthless interests of the strong and the powerful.

Today, our nation is one of those who respect the principles of international law with dignity, uncompromisingly and firmly, despite the hypocrisy of those who refer to those principles only when it suits their own interests. That is why we remain consistent in respecting every letter of the Dayton Agreement (that ended the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina), because our word and honor are not for sale, nor are they measured by fleeting and double standards. This is precisely why our voice is heard loudly and respected in the world today," President Vucic wrote, and added:

"As a nation, we have always suffered on the historical crossroads, over which the influences of different cultures and civilizations have been fighting for centuries. Today, we are no longer anyone's road for war campaigns, but a bridge that connects and unites all people of good will and honest intentions.

Let our nation be a proud beacon of cooperation, reconciliation and progress, a messenger of justice and equality with brothers and neighbors and a solid foundation of peace in the entire region, which will set an example of good coexistence and be a leader on the path to prosperity. We are fighting for such a Serbia and RS, in order to preserve the greatest treasure - our children, culture, faith, script, name and last name, homesteads and heritage, remembering all the sacrifices that are embedded in the collective memory of our entire kind.
