Serb List leader Zlatan Elek confirmed today that the election commission in Kosovo and Metohija did not approve the right of this party to participate in the elections for the assembly in Pristina, scheduled for February 9.

"We believe that this was done on the order of Albin Kurti to prevent the participation of Serbs in the elections. This decision has no basis in law and is proof of how much Kurti wants to eliminate Serbs from these areas. Kurti does not want to see members of the Serb List in the parliament, instead he wants obedient Serbs like Nenad Rasic," Elek said, according to Kosovo Online.

He added that the decision is illegal and was made because the Serb List used the term Kosovo and Metohija in a campaign video, but that term is completely legal because it is a toponym.

"I said instead of Kosovo, the Republic of Serbia. I am proud of those words and firmly stand behind everything that was said. That speaks volumes regarding how much the Serb List is a thorn in Kurti's side. This is not a violation of the law and cannot result in it being eliminated from the election race. I will give you an example of the list led by Mr. Jablanovic, who also uses the term Kosovo and Metohija like me, but his list has been confirmed.

We are aware of all the scheming done by Kurti against the Serb List because he sees us as opponents. That's why he initiated proceedings against all the leaders of the Serb List, as well as directors in the public system, saying that we are fighting against the constitutional order of Kosovo," Elek said.

He added that he will fight against this decision using all political and democratic means.

"During the day, we will submit a complaint to the election panel, and I expect a clear decision from them rejecting this undemocratic move made by Kurti. I would like to thank all citizens, President Aleksandar Vucic and the US embassy that condemned such a decision," concluded Elek.
