Vucic meets with head of Italian diplomacy in Brussels: I am grateful for continuous support on EU path

President Aleksandar Vucic met today in Brussels with Italian Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Antonio Tajani.

The president thanked Tajani for his country's continued support for the EU future of Serbia and the Western Balkan region.

"A very important and constructive conversation with Antonio Tajani. Our two nations share deep historical and friendly ties, and today Serbia and Italy are close partners in many areas. I am especially grateful for Italy's continued support for the European future of Serbia and the Western Balkan region.

I reiterated the importance of the continuation of this process and the role that Italy can play as a partner that consistently and strongly supports the EU enlargement policy," Vucic wrote on his Instagram account "buducnostsrbijeav".

He stated that the meeting also discussed the current geopolitical situation, the challenges facing Europe, especially in the light of global crises and changes that are taking place quickly, bringing challenges to everyone, such as economic and energy insecurity and security threats that affect both the region, and Europe as a whole.

"Serbia remains committed to strengthening relations with Italy and strengthening our cooperation at all levels," said Vucic.
