President Vucic meets with Cypriot Defense Minister Palmas: Excellent conversation to strengthen cooperation

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic today met with Minister of Defense of Cyprus Vasilis Palmas, and assessed that the conversation was excellent and substantive, on the topic of strengthening cooperation, especially in the field of defense and security, which he pointed out is of great importance for contributing to peace and stability in our region.

"I specifically informed the esteemed interlocutor about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, the pressure Serbs are exposed to, as well as the threats to their survival in their centuries-old homes. We also exchanged opinions about current security risks in the context of the biggest geopolitical tensions and conflicts in several key regions, as well as about common goals within international missions," wrote Vucic on his Instagram account "buducnostsrbijeav".

Vucic repeated his gratitude for the consistent and principled position of Cyprus not to recognize so-called of Kosovo, and stressed that Serbia provides full support to the efforts of Cyprus to resolve its most important national issue, with the aim of preserving territorial integrity and sovereignty.

"I said I hoped that I will soon have the opportunity to host a great friend of Serbia, President Nikos Christodoulides, in Belgrade, since relations between Serbia and Cyprus are based on firm friendship, mutual trust, a historically confirmed closeness and solidarity between our peoples," Vucic wrote.
