Serbian National Assembly President Ana Brnabic has said that Serbia is an increasingly important and respected country at the global level precisely because of the independent and sovereign policy of President Aleksandar Vucic.

After the opening of the World Policy Conference in Abu Dhabi, where she participated in the opening panel, Brnabic pointed out that the reason why the world respects and appreciates Serbia's independent foreign policy is also the reason why there are attempts to destabilize the country, as has been happening these days.

She stated said what makes the world appreciate and respect Serbia and why Serbia is an increasingly important country in the European and world frameworks is the independent foreign policy of our country.

"Building relations and the vision of President Aleksandar Vucic, building bridges and moving away from conflicts, so that we are not the grass that elephants trample on when they fight, all the things for which Serbia is appreciated in the world is the reason why there are attempts to destabilize our country year after year, and what is happening right now is an attempt at destabilization and a hybrid war," said Brnabic.

She pointed out that everything that the world values in the policies of Aleksandar Vucic - the independence, autonomy and resilience of Serbia - is at the same time the reason for an attempt at internal destabilization.

"It's kind of interesting from a political point of view, but at the same time it's extremely sad," concluded Brnabic.

She stressed that relations between Serbia and the United Arab Emirates are at an extremely high level due to the work and efforts of President Vucic, as well as his personal relations with the president of the UAE, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

"It's always good to be in Abu Dhabi, because our relations with the United Arab Emirates, as one of the world's most important superpowers, are getting better and better because of the work and energy that President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has invested in building those relations, as well as his personal relations with president of the UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan," said Brnabic.

She recalled that this year Serbia had the honor not only to host the president of the UAE, but also to sign a free trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates.

She once again congratulated the Government of the Republic of Serbia on this success, indicating that it will be of great importance to our entire business community and Serbian agriculture in the years to come.

Brnabic reminded that Serbia this year alone had the opportunity to host some of the most important world leaders.

"In 2024, we hosted President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, President of France Emmanuel Macron, and Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz. President Aleksandar Vucic spoke with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. We also hosted President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is certainly one of the five most important world statesmen today, and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and many others," said Brnabic.

She added that for a state with 6.8 million inhabitants, this only shows how much our policy is recognized and how much more important Serbia is today than it has ever been.

"On the other hand, it is the most difficult policy that a country can conduct, especially a small country like Serbia. The best for our people, but also the hardest. That's why all the pressure that is increasing, unfortunately, we also see it now," said Brnabic.
