The head of the European Union (EU) Delegation, Emanuele Giaufret, said today that citizens have the right to gather and express their will, but without violence and while respecting the laws.

"We appreciate the opportunities and capacities of individuals to express themselves," said Giaufret before the start of a ceremony on the occasion of the Human Rights Day, when asked by a journalist to comment on the current blockades of faculties and student protests in Serbia.
He added that freedom of expression and association are part of EU's values, but that it is important that the laws are respected.
