Prime Minister of Serbia Milos Vucevic said that today in Novi Sad, representatives of the former regime synchronized to cause chaos in the streets and in the City Assembly in order to forcefully seize that institution, the property of citizens, even though a session was scheduled, at the proposal of the opposition, to discuss the dismissal of Mayor Milan Djuric

"The plan of the representatives of the former regime was to start chaos first in the streets, and then the chaos also started in the City Assembly. And that was synchronized. The hooligans led by Marinika Tepc, Milivojevic and Cuta tried to force their way into the Assembly, where they do not belong," said Vucevic, answering questions from journalists at the Palace of Serbia before the opening of the Global Partnership for Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit.

According to him, unfortunately, what had been announced happened, above all what had been announced by the president of the Novi Sad City Assembly this morning at a news conference.

He reminded that united opposition councilors, under the patronage of Dragan Djilas, demanded an extraordinary session of the City Assembly with one point on the agenda, namely the removal of the mayor of Novi Sad, Milan Djuric.

"The session was scheduled and there was majority, we are talking about our coalition, which is led by the Serbian Progressive Party, provided a quorum, participated in the discussion, that is, made it possible for the session to take place, for the discussion to continue, because we do not run away and are not afraid of the discussion. The mayor wanted a conversation on that topic," said Vucevic.

He added that then someone, as if on command, caused chaos.

Vucevic stressed that the opposition has shown that it is not interested in the discussion about political responsibility, which they talk about so much.

"They are interested in a revolution, they are interested in coming to power bypassing the elections. And that is the only thing they do. With all those symbols,, paint, attacks, vuvuzelas, chains, padlocks, poles, hammers, everything they do. They only do it to cause chaos," said Vucevic.

He added that the opposition councilors came out of the hall and attacked the police from behind and also attacked a reporter from TV Informer and stole her phone.

"These are not street hooligans, but councilors," Vucevic said.

"There's your democracy," said Vucevic and pointed out that the only goal of the opposition was to usurp people's property and declare that they had won.
