President Vucic: On Friday, I will take over EXPO flag
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has said that he will on Friday take over the EXPO flag, which was recently officially handed to a Serbian delegation in Paris.
"On Friday, I will receive the EXPO flag, which I will hug, kiss, keep and proudly wave and hand over to the new president when we show the changed face of Serbia in two years and a few months," Vucic told an audience in Belgrade, talking about which important events are expected in the coming days.
As previously announced by EXPO, the flag will be welcomed by the highest state officials in Belgrade this week.
The flag, the key symbol of hosting this, one of the most prestigious international events, was presented to the Serbian delegation in Paris on November 26.
Previously, the General Assembly of the International Bureau of Exhibitions (BIE) in Paris unanimously adopted the dossier for the recognition of the Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027 Belgrade, which marks the end of the preparation and verification process during which all aspects of the project received official approval and support from the international community.
Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali said earlier that 140 countries are expected to participate in EXPO 2027, and that between three and four million people will visit the event.
