Political analyst Rakic: Belgrade justifiably suspects that the Zubin Potok incident was staged by Pristina
Political analyst Zarko Rakic said today that Belgrade justifiably suspects that the incident on the Ibar-Lepenac water canal in Zubin Potok was staged by the regime in Pristina.
He told Tanjug that this is an already recognizable tactic of the regime in Pristina, to create an event and then try to present itself as a victim, and immediately blame Serbia.
"That has already been done, the investigation hadn't even started yet and Albin Kurti immediately said that Belgrade is to blame and then linked it to the war in Ukraine. We will probably have more similar provocations in the coming days in order to put pressure on the Serbs. Elections are scheduled for February, we will see how that will go in the atmosphere of fear that he (Kurti) is persistently spreading. We will hardly move in the direction of the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO)," said Rakic.
Although it is often said that pressure on the Serbs is aimed at forcing them out of the north of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, Rakic believes that this is only the first phase of the plan of the prime minister of the provisional Pristina Albin Kurti, and that the second phase, which is the formation of a Greater Albania state, is far more important.
According to him, as long as there is such an inert behavior by the West, i.e. tacit or even open support for the regime in Pristina, there will be no permanent solution.
Commenting on President Aleksandar Vucic saying that this was a hybrid attack on Serbia, Rakic said that the term "hybrid attack" refers to the fact that the war is waged on the front, but that it can also be waged by some other means, such as economic pressure, sanctions, paramilitary groups, attacks on culture, sports.
"It is a wide range of means by which you try to find the weak point of the opponent, and this is exactly that, the spreading of the lies where you create accusations against a country and its leadership in an attempt to increase sympathy among your partners or allies. The question is what the limits of such politics will be, I think that the time for such behavior is over," he said.
As long as it has the support of the West, Pristina will behave like that, Rakic assessed and added that Pristina bases its strategy on this and of there being no reason to change, because it has had relative success so far.
