Goran Vesic, who is on hunger strike, rushed to Sremska Kamenica institute due to serious deterioration
Goran Vesic has been transferred to the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases of Vojvodina in Sremska Kamenica due to a deterioration of his health.
According to Kurir, the warden of the Novi Sad prison informed the judge for the preliminary proceedings as well as Vesic's lawyer last night that the former minister's health had considerably deteriorated, which is why he was urgently transferred to the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases of Vojvodina in Sremska Kamenica.
Vesic, who stepped down as minister of construction in the wake of the November 1 Novi Sad railway station collapse, and was later detained, started his hunger strike five days ago, after which it was suspected that he was experiencing serious health problems which were diagnosed a few days before he was arrested.
Namely, according to a document obtained by Kurir, on November 18, Vesic was examined at the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases in Dedinje, Belgrade, and at that time he was indicated for hospitalization and invasive cardiological diagnostics.
It was found that, among other things, he has high blood pressure and suffers from angina pectoris, and was prescribed therapy consisting of eight different drugs.
