Their intention to prevent salaries and pensions increase will not succeed: Vucic reacts to Assembly incident
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic reacted in a video posted on Instagram to a physical clash that took place today between a number of the members of th National Assembly. Vucic said he would respond to rudeness and arrogance by doing even more work going forward.
The president said that although he is worried about the "savage behavior" by some the members of the National Assembly of Serbia (people's deputies) and the daily bullying that they carry out throughout our country, he wants to reassure the citizens to whom he said the following:
"For days, some members of the former regime and their admirers have been trying to cause riots in Serbia. They are stirring up violence everywhere, attacking the police, stopping traffic, stopping ordinary people who can't get to work, who can't take their children to the doctor. Every day they spread that violence to other spheres of social life, in order to show that normal political life depends on them," the president said in a video published on the "buducnostsrbijeav" account.
According to Vucic, they are blackmailing us with their rudeness, bad behavior, arrogance and bullying.
"Of course, those who showed their violence against women on a day dedicated to combating violence against women and domestic violence always take the lead in this, because they see no other way to come to power. They don't see it because they don't have plans, they don't have programs. Every tragedy is seen as their chance. Every broken bridge is their new chance. When something needs to be done for the people, they are always against it, and when you ask them what they are in favor of, they never know," said Vucic.
He told the citizens that they should not be worried.
"For all the people who are worried about where Serbia is going and whether Serbia has a future with this kind of political scene - it does, and despite it, because there are people who will fight for Serbia, who love it more than anything and who will continue to build and work and who will, and do that despite the wishes of those who caused violence in the Assembly today - and that is undoubtedly a group of those who present themselves as the opposition, and are the opposition to Serbia, not to the ruling structures," said the president.
"Their intention not to pay increased salaries and pensions will not pass. We will do everything to do our job in accordance with the interests of the citizens. We will maintain peace and stability, and don't worry people, they are not braver, they are dangerous only because they are shameless. It's important that we remain calm and that the authorities do their job. Rest assured, Serbia will not stop and Serbia will never be defeated. Long live Serbia," said President Vucic.
