Novi Sad, Loznica, Iriski Venac, Prijepolje... these are just some of the places in Serbia where a storm on Friday caused a disaster.

Snow had already been falling since the morning on Fruska Gora, along the border area with Croatia, and as Telegraf's meteorologist had announced, it spread to the northern regions of Srem, then Podrinje and Kolubara districts in the west, and Belgrade as well.

Users have been photos from Novi Sad on social networks.

The situation is no better in Loznica either, where there's even more snow.

The town of Sabac on the Sava River also "turned white."

According to forecasts, this snow will not last, but this is the first one of the year across the country. Traffic at one point completely collapsed on Iriski Venac because of the blizzard. Kilometer-long lines of vehicles formed as the snow completely covered the road.

Gale force winds also hit Serbia during the night, and then increased in intensity.

Other than in Belgrade, the wind caused problems all over Serbia. Trees were uprooted in the village of Jasa Tomic, while a series of accidents happened in the capital, where the wind picked up a dumpster and slammed it into a city bus, and a traffic sign got knocked down, damaging a car as tragedies were narrowly avoided.

Prijepolje in the southwest has been hit hard as the rain and the melting snow triggered rockslides in the Lim Canyon.

Rocks were falling onto the road near Velika Zupa, in the direction of Brodarevo.
