Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic reacted to the violent blockade of a court in Novi Sad and pointed out that it was an attack on the judicial system.

"The blockade of the court building in Novi Sad by some opposition deputies is a direct threat to the work of judicial authorities and an attack on the judicial system and legal safety in the country. With that violent act, the attack on employees of the court and prosecutor's office and citizens who were at the court, they not only made its functioning impossible, but also denied many people the right to receive legal protection today," he said.

The prime minister stressed that not a single citizen of Serbia should be denied legal protection because of violence and threats.

"And that's what some opposition deputies did today and thus seriously threatened the justice system. At the same time, with this violent act, they once again showed that they don't care about establishing the facts, but only about obstructing the investigation into the tragedy at the railway station in Novi Sad.

I condemn in the strongest terms this unprecedented attack on the judiciary and the prosecutor's office, and we will do everything to protect the legal system of our country, in which the court and the prosecution have complete autonomy and independence. Knowing the disastrous, criminal results of their (opposition's) rule in Serbia and Novi Sad, it is clear that their guilty conscience drives hatred and violence towards law, justice and, above all, truth," Vucevic was explicit.
