At the end of a successful season, in a year in which records were broken, Belgrade will host the 5th Belgrade Half Marathon on Sunday, November 24!

Under the auspices of the City of Belgrade and the Ministry of Sports, 10 and 21 kilometers will be run on the streets of the Serbian capital, and the director of the competition, Darko Habus, said in a statement:

"Weather conditions will be favorable, fresh and cooler weather, without strong wind. Snow is expected in the night between Thursday and Friday, which will thaw by Saturday. The temperature will be between 7-9 degrees (Celsius). The number of participants has exceeded 5,000, which is a record compared to last year, when slightly more than 4,000 people participated. We have 40 participating countries, which is a small victory for us," said Habus, and continued:

"Last year's half marathon will be remembered for (Elzan) Bibic's performance, who was less than four seconds short of breaking the record from 1998. He is in focus this time to achieve the result we expect. We have worked on it for a year, in agreement with him. He is currently preparing in Spain."

Although he was not at the news conference, Bibic addressed those attending it via video link:

"I'm sorry that I'm not at the conference, but on this occasion I want to say that the form is at a high level. We expect a good result, breaking the state record that is over 25 years old. This year I come well prepared, I will run healthy. As for the audience and the people who will be there, I expect as many as possible to turn out, to have their support the whole way. My team and family will also support me, which will be an added impetus. And I hope that we will all write history together."
