Dramatic video from Jablanica, people missing, injured in floods and landslides, 5 feared dead: town cut off
The Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) Jablanica (southern Bosnia and Herzegovina) has called on residents to turn to them and firefighters for help with rescue operations after the floods caused by heavy rainfall last night.
According to Dnevni Avaz, there is unofficial information that at least five people have died in the floods andl landslides.
The Jablanica Firefighting Station told klix.ba that the town is completely blocked.
"The police informed us that the railroad is also blocked. You can't get in or out of Jablanica at the moment. Landline phones are working, but mobile phones have no signal," they told Klix.
GSS Jablanica reports that some houses have been flooded.
"Do not move through the streets either on foot or in vehicles. Torrents have flooded the roads," warns the GSS.
The Federal Administration of Civil Protection (FUCZ) announced that road connections Jablanica-Mostar, Jablanica-Risovac, Jablanica-Prozor Rama, Jablanica-Konjic have been interrupted.
Large torrential flows and landslides have put the population at risk. There are reports of many injured and missing persons.
Part of Buturovic Polje is also cut off from a local road, making it difficult for people to access it. In Ostrozac, a railway line has collapsed.
