Prime Minister of Serbia Milos Vucevic stressed today that a complaint will be filed against a manager of a Yura plant located in the town of Leskovac, who attacked two female workers there on Friday.

The prime minister said that the Ministry of Labor will issue a statement regarding the criminal complaint during the day, which will be processed by the competent prosecutor's office.

"We reacted immediately and we didn't just stop at some simple, let's say, in quotation marks - reports, but a criminal complaint will be filed and I would say that it is a concrete action on the part of the state. No one supports mistreatment of any worker, regardless of whether the company is domestic or foreign, whether the subject of mobbing is a domestic or a foreign worker, these are things that must not happen in Serbia," said Vucevic.

Vucevic reiterated that there is no compromise when it comes to mobbing.

"A criminal complaint will be filed against the manager of the company that assaulted two female workers. And I can inform you that the Labor Inspectorate received documents from the company itself that this company manager has been suspended and banned from entering the premises, so the state will react," said Vucevic.

He added that there should not be any differences and divisions.

"We are looking forward to new companies (arriving in Serbia), we want them to work successfully, to have as many employees as possible, but, absolutely, this does not mean that someone can carry out any kind of violence against them. And as far as I'm concerned, Serbia, as an organized country, must respond in accordance with the law, very strongly and very clearly, within a short period of time. And I expect to see, of course, a decision by the prosecutor's office as to how they will qualify what the Labor Inspectorate will file in the form of a criminal report," said Vucevic.

An incident happened last Friday at the Korean Yura company plant in Leskovac, when a manager threw chairs at female workers. The company suspended the manager and announced disciplinary proceedings, while a petition was launched to deny the Korean citizen the right to stay in Serbia because of the incident.
