Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) fans will not be able to support their team when it plays away next week against Inter Milan, in the Champions League second round match, because the Milan city authorities and the Italian police have banned them from coming because of fears they will cause disorder.

That is why Delije, the most ardent supporter group, issued a statement to all fans, pointing out that the police in Italy are afraid of the arrival of 10,000 of them or are incompetent, and inviting the fans  to come to the Red Star stadium in Belgrade for a game on Friday, to show support to the team before they travel to Italy.

"As everyone knows, Red Star fans are banned from going to Italy for football matches against Inter and Milan (both clubs from Milan)! Red Star is not the first club to be punished by this country, and this was imposed by the Italian police, who, according to their own criteria, look at who is acceptable and who is not. Obviously, they are either incompetent or are afraid of 10,000 fans, who would certainly come if there was an opportunity to buy a ticket."

"We invite people to come to the stadium on Friday, to provide them (the team) with enough support for Tuesday, because the game in front of a full stadium in Italy, without us in the stands, will be an almost impossible mission. On Friday, let's show that we are with them so that they know how many people are following them on this very difficult journey, where they will have to be alone because of Italy's fears.

On Friday, they must feel our support, whatever happens in Milan, but also feel that, apart from going to play against last year's champion of Italy, they are going to fight against injustice as well!

Also, due to the strictness of the Italian police, who at the entrance ask for a ticket and a document on which the names must match, we urge people not to go there as it is quite certain that they will not be able to enter the stadium," Delije said in their statement.
