Vucic from Brussels: 1.58 billion allocated to Serbia from growth agenda, of which 380 million as gift
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic on Thursday in Brussels met with EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi.
"We talked about the plans of the new European Commission, whose mandate expires in five years. We talked about everything we did in the previous period, with gratitude to him for his dedication to solving the problem," said Vucic.
He added that one billion and 580 million have been allocated to Serbia from the growth fund, of which 380 million is a gift, and 1.2 billion are the most favorable borrowed funds, where the interest rate is 0.2 percent.
Vucic said that they had a good and open conversation in Brussels about Serbia's progress in the process of accession negotiations and that he pointed out that Serbia is ready for new steps towards EU membership, as well as that he requested a more active engagement of EU institutions in the protection the rights of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija.
Vucic stated that they also discussed the implementation of the Reform Agenda and the implementation of the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
