Serbian ambassador attacked in central Madrid: Man striks her after one question!

A younger male physically attacked Serbian ambassador to Spain Irena Sarac late on Sunday afternoon in central Madrid, in the street where she lives, and injured her back.

Judging by the statements from eyewitnesses, and the attacker's speech, it is suspected that he is of Albanian origin.

According to those present, the person approached Ambassador Sarac, who was talking on the phone in Serbian, and asked her if she was from Serbia, after which he kicked her in the back and ran away.

Several eyewitnesses then unsuccessfully tried to catch the assailant.

The attack was reported to the police, who arrived at the scene and were investigating.

Djuric: We demand full investigation and responsibility from all authorities

Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric strongly condemned the physical attack against the Serbian ambassador to Spain, Irena Sarac, which happened on Sunday afternoon in Madrid.

"I strongly condemn the physical attack against Ambassador Sarac in the center of Madrid. We demand from all authorities a full investigation and responsibility for this outrageous incident and act of violence against the highest diplomatic representative of our country," said Djuric.
