Brnabic meets with North Macedonia delegation, discusses further improvement of relations

President of the National Assembly of Serbia Ana Brnabic has met with a delegation of the Government of North Macedonia.

It was concluded during the meeting that both parties would focus on implementing concrete projects and initiatives with the aim of further integration and advancement of bilateral relations, which they said would help regional stability and prosperity.

The delegation of North Macedonia included Deputy PM and Minister of Inter-Community Relations Ivan Stoilkovic, Deputy PM and Minister of Transport and Communications Aleksandar Nikoloski and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timco Mucunski.

Brnabic expressed her satisfaction over the visit and congratulated the guests on the formation of the new government, and added that North Macedonia can always count on sincere support and partnership from Serbia.

The National Assembly announced that during the meeting, the participants discussed opportunities for further development of friendly ties through shared history and close cultural relations.

Special emphasis was placed on parliamentary cooperation, expressing mutual satisfaction that a parliamentary friendship group with Serbia was formed in the Assembly of North Macedonia.

This initiative will further strengthen political and diplomatic relations, providing new opportunities for improvement of bilateral dialogue.

Brnabic stressed the importance of North Macedonia as an economic partner of Serbia, both in the field of external trade and investment cooperation.

They also discussed a protocol signed in Skopje allowing the establishment of a liberalized labor market within the Open Balkan initiative, which will contribute to improving the business environment and solving the problem of labor shortages.

Stoilkovic said he was pleased with the strengthening of cooperation and stressed that strong and permanent ties between the two nations represent a solid basis for further improvement of cooperation at all levels.

Stoilkovic added that they will actively work to participate in the upcoming world exhibition EXPO 2027, to be held in Belgrade, which will be another important step in improving mutual relations and promoting the region.
