Some of the patients who happened to be in the Zagreb clinic KBC Rebro, at the moment when an armed man entered the premises and started making threats, have now told the details of the horror to the site 24sata.

"We were in our rooms. The doctor came and locked us up and said that they had been told that a man with a gun was in the hospital. First we waited, then we started getting out through the windows. About 20 of us jumped out of the windows," a woman told 24sata, adding that the incident happened around 10:30.

The police said that they received a report around 10:05.

It is not known at this time if the suspect carried a real weapon.

A large number of police officers are at the scene.

The clinic's assistant director said that no one was at risk.

"The police are currently negotiating with a man in the Green Building, in the psychiatric ward. The man barged in there with a gun. The area has been evacuated, no one is in danger, the police are negotiating. We don't know if the weapon is real or not," Dr. Milivoj Novak told Vecernje Novosti.

Reports in the meanwhile said that the police now have the man in their custody.
