Mass arrest of smugglers in 3 large operations: They attempted to "transfer" as many as 59 people to Bulgaria
The police from Pirot and members of the Regional Border Police Center on Serbia's border with Bulgaria have arrested four persons in three separate operations, who are suspected of people smuggling.
During the arrests, the police found 59 irregular migrants.
34 irregular migrants were found near Pirot in a Citroen van driven by K.K. from Pancevo, while in another operation, also near the same town, 10 migrants were found in a Renault driven by S.M. (25) from Apatin.
In the third operation, 15 more irregular migrants were discovered, this time in a Dacia with Serbian license plates driven by Croatian citizen B.I. (22), while L.I. (43) from Pozarevac was also in the vehicle.
All those arrested will be brought to the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Pirot within the legal deadline.
