President of the Serbian National Assembly Ana Bernabic has reacted to a statement made by the president of the Croatian assembly, Goran Jandrokovic.

"Serbia is a model and a beacon of democracy compared to Croatia. It is not the Republic of Serbia that banned anyone from Croatia from visiting Kragujevac, Kraljevo or Jajince, where the (German) Nazis were killing people during the Second World War just because they were Serbs, Jews or Romnia. It is Croatia that banned President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic from visiting the largest execution site of the Serb people,  the Jasenovac Ustasha camp system.

That ban is still in force today. It is in Croatia, not in Serbia, that a person can be arrested and sentenced to a prison for 15 days, just because of the choice of music they listened to in their own car. This happened to a citizen of Serbia, lawyer Nemanja Beric. That Croatia is the same country which has publicly banned the entry of representatives of the state of Montenegro, i.e. direct representatives of the people, members of the parliament, just because it did not like their attitude about its Nazi past.

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic publicly called for an end to the practice of holding up foreign citizens at Serbia's borders for their political statements or views, although this is completely incomparable to the practice of arresting and sentencing people to prison because of the music they listen to, a complete ban on entry because of positions and opinions, or bans without any explanation, which is how Croatian 'democracy' works.

It is another in a series of examples that show a clear difference between you and us. We are not the same," stated Brnabic.
