Serbia is being affected by a new heatwave. Sunny and very warm days are ahead of us. Already during the weekend, the maximum temperature will go above 35° Celsius, and on Sunday and at the beginning of next week it will rise to 37-38 degrees.

A very pronounced high thermal ridge will extend over our area from the southwest, with the influx of a hot air mass from northern Africa.

This synoptic situation will block the penetration of clouds and precipitation from the Atlantic and from the north of Europe.

This situation is expected to last until the end of August. Mid next week there will be instability in parts of Serbia, in some places with showers and thunderstorms, on Thursday and Friday more pronounced in southern, central and mountain areas.

The daily highs during the last days of August will range from 30 to 35 degrees.

The beginning of September will bring sunny and hot weather to Serbia.

That will last until September 10.

Maximum temperatures will be mostly from 30 to 35 degrees.

Therefore, the end of August and the beginning of September will be characterized by a heatwave and temperatures 7-8 degrees higher than average.

Significant and abundant rainfall is not in sight at least until September 10, so a very dry period continues.

Although days will be very hot, the nights are getting longer, so they will be more pleasant, except in Belgrade, because the heat island effect means that minimum temperatures will not drop below 20 degrees.

After September 10, the warm weather will continue, but with the daily highs ranging from 27 to 30 degrees - values that are still above average.

This would continue at least until September 20, after which cooler weather is expected.

However, according to current forecasts we will still have to wait for October, possibly the very end of September for the first fall rains.
