Serbian tennis ace Novak Djokovic's gold medal at the Olympic Games is being celebrated in various places in the region for days, and so a billboard dedicated to the best athlete on the planet appeared in Montenegro on Wednesday morning!

The billboard appeared in central Podgorica and features the image of Djokovic holding up the Olympic medial, the Serbian tricolor behind him, and the message, "The Pride of Montenegro" inscribed underneath.

"This is really great, kudos to whoever thought of it. We are one nation and brothers and we perceive every success of Serbian athletes as our own. While Nole played the final, everyone was watching, and afterwards there were celebrations in cafes. When I saw this billboard, I got goosebumps, I saw that some people walking by even applauded when they saw it," Ivan Bozovic from Podgorica told RINA.

Serbia's great success at the Olympoc tennis tournament thanks to Novak Djokovic also prompted Montenegro's Prime Minister Milojko Spajic and President Jakov Milatovic to offer their congratulations.

Spajic said that when all professional dreams come true, "even great champions tremble."

"Congratulations to Novak Djokovic, he completed his greatest career with the Olympic gold. We are waiting for him in Montenegro and his Jasenovo Polje. Now he must set off for the US Open trophy from our coast," he said, alluding to the fact that just before the Olympic Games, Djokovic was preparing in a luxury resort in Herceg Novi.

After leaving Paris, the best tennis player of all time came to Montenegro, where he will most likely stay until August 13, when a festive welcome is scheduled on the famous balcony in the heart of Belgrade - where Serbia's world class athletes traditionally appear after major achievements, to be welcomed and honored by the fans.
