The Serbian national football team member supported Novak in Paris
A large number of world-famous people attended the final match of the Olympic tennis tournament between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, and among them was our footballer Dusan Vlahovic.
All of us around the planet were happy about Novak's gold, including him, who came to see the epic match between two tennis magicians, which ended with Djokovic's victory.
Vlahovic followed Sunday's match with a lot of emotions, and in an exclusive interview for the Telegraf portal afterwards tried to sum up his first impressions in a few words.
"An incredible thing, I'm very glad that I was a part of history and I congratulate Novak, I wish him all the luck, I thank him for bringing this gold to Serbia."
Although there were many emotions, Dusan Vlahovic says that he did not cry and that he is proud of Djokovic's success.
"There were no tears, I'm not usually like that, I saw that he did tear up, but that's understandable. The only trophy he was missing, he achieved it today and we are all very happy for him and our hearts are full."
But it wasn't all the same to him. He described how he felt when he saw Novak Djokovic's tears of joy on the court.
"I was certainly not indifferent, he is our greatest athlete and one of the greatest athletes of all time in general. It wasn't all the same, but like I said, I'm happy that I was part of history, that he won what he missed. Although as I've been saying before this, now let the whole world say he's officially the GOAT."
During the entire match, Dusan Vlahovic was biting his nails, and these are the pictures that quickly went around the world.
"The whole match was very uncertain even during the first tiebreak, but I knew that it was going that way and that if it was getting decided, if it was 50/50, I knew and believed that Novak could not lose it. That's how it was in the end and we are very happy about it. We all saw what happened at Wimbledon, 20 days after the operation, the man reached the final. It's an achievement, but he said himself he was ready to go for gold. I didn't have any doubt."
